MAX
initial/subsequent mins
Because
of flagfall costs, the MAXIMUM amount of minutes a
payphone operator can allow an end-user customer to buy for
their initial $1 in order to at least break even will
be less than that of subsequent $1 coins inserted. Setting
your payphone to allow the maximum amount of minutes for each
coin inserted such that you the payphone operator will at
least break even maximises both perceived end user value and
satisfaction, and ensures you do not make a loss on any single
call. Many
end users will not utilise the maximum amount of minutes
available for each coin inserted by hanging up early' - thus
there is potential to profit even when setting maximum
available minutes per coin to the break even point. Payphone
operators who demand higher profit margins can set the max
minutes per coin inserted lower than the break even point to
net a guaranteed margin per coin inserted.
A
consultant can explain in detail the mathematical models
behind the payphone tariff setting process and the
profitability of alternate operator pricing strategies.
In
simple terms, setting the per-minute price of calling on a
Yellerphone higher will result in higher profit margins.
Max
mins included in access min spend.
Minimum
monthly access fees include a certain amount of minutes on
most plans we offer- Unlike landlines; network access fees are NOT dead money.
For
example, on Plan 1 for the $12 minimum charge per month, ~100
minutes of calls are included in the minimum charge.
Fully
scalable
Some
plans costs per minute increase if a certain usage level is exceeded
within a given period, usually thirty days, depending on the
plan. If a plan is fully scalable, the same cost per minute
applies regardless of how heavily the service is utilised.
Typically; the point where airtime costs increase dramatically
is when the included credit in the minimum monthly spend is
exhausted. Happily; if you the operator; or we the payphone
manager keep an eye on the phone's usage across a month;
these costs can be avoided by placing the payphone on a
alternate and cheaper plan once the cheap airtime minutes run
out.
Non-expiring
Rolling access fee credit
On
most plans, at the end of the month or 30 day billing cycle,
the minutes included in your monthly minimum spend expire- on
some plans we offer, the minutes will continue to roll
month-to month so long as you maintain the plan and do not switch
to another one.
